Dr Maisie Ryan was 27 years young. An amazing doctor, much loved by her family friends and colleagues. She was hugely talented and recently started training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She was well known to go the extra mile for her patient and provided them with excellent care. She was also well known for her volunteering work with Marrow.

Maisie in the short time I had the pleasure of working with you at Airedale you really made your mark. You were so kind, so hard working and always doing extra. Thank you for the posters you put up for us asking midwives and doctors to call us if any procedures needed doing so we didn’t miss out. Thank you for your company and your friendly face. I hope you know how greatly missed you are here at Airedale. I have had many a Maisie moment since you’ve gone.

Maisie and I met for coffee and her love for her job was so clear within seconds of our meeting. Maisie had so much potential. But what was even clearer was her love for her family. My thoughts go out to you all of them at this difficult time. RIP Maisie.

I had the joy of working with Maisie when she was an F2 working in O&G and watch her love of the specialty grow. She was kind, talented and hardworking. I then saw her just a few weeks ago when she attended a course I was teaching on. She demonstrated such a skill and determination on the laparoscopic skills box I was so impressed. She will be sorely missed within our specialty not only for her huge potential but for her usual bubbly smile and warm personality. Rest in peace Maisie x

Maisie was kind, gentle and hardworking. She was an excellent Doctor (with the neatest handwriting I’ve come across from a doctor!) and a real joy to work alongside for almost the whole year that I was in Harrogate. I feel robbed of all the future times that I am sure I would have had the chance work with you again Maisie, and feel that is it such a loss for O&G, as well as medicine, because I know she had such a passion for the specialty. I am just so desperately sad for her family and close friends. She was one of life’s beautiful people, RIP Maisie x
