Dear Lilian, the cold hands of death having snatched you at your prime cannot be questioned. We are all after all, mortals. I recall meeting you all those years ago as neighbours and Kenneth's girlfriend at the time. You were warm and friendly in disposition and above all left an indelible mark as selfless in the dispatch of your duties in all respects. May God in his infinite mercy grant your soul eternal rest. “LiliAnne... Lily... Lilly-Babes” as l would fondly call you. Lilian Rotibi, the great Philanthropist, fervent praying Queen, a generous giver, a lover of Jesus Christ. The woman who found praying and fasting as a lifestyle and shunned materialistic things of this earth. A Hero and Champion of good causes just exited this earth. When l heard the news, l refused to believe it and l waited for you to wake up but you did not wake up. I remember our University days like yesterday. You were a fantastic cook; l would visit with you just to eat fine food, your oxtail stew was the best. How about our shopping trips to Oxford Street and surroundings? Just Fun! We had memorable fun times. I recall your wedding and when your babies came. I remember my wedding; you were my part of my wedding train. When my babies came, we celebrated too. Life has been beautiful thereafter, for both of us. I recall all our chats and texts. ... fashi jooor... let God judge the matter...prayer is the key... these were your infamous lines. Lilian, you would pray and fast for 40 days out of the 30 days in a month, if possible. You touched thousands and thousands of lives through your many schools and charitable works. You blessed everyone that connected with you. If there was a void, you filled the void; if there was a need, you addressed the need. You have impacted thousands of lives and generations to come. I guess there was nothing left for you to do, so the Great Architect of the Universe called you home, your creator, our Alpha and Omega, our one true God. Your work here was done, just done! This is just how to rationalize your passing. A very fine woman, perfect to everyone that knew and loved her simplicity and visceral love and care for another human being. Her passion for educating the next child was a rare gift from God. May God grant Kenneth, your adorable children and your siblings, your in-laws, and everyone else the fortitude to bear your absence on this earth. I love you deeply and I hold our last conversations close to my now aching heart! You lived and died in our saviour, Jesus Christ the son of God. I remember when we first met in FGCL Ijanikin as a transfer student from Enugu (if I'm not mistaken) due to health issues. I took to you as if we'd known each other like forever. You were full of life and amiable. We spent 4years after which a break like so many of us. Fast forward to present day. We reunited recently and we had so many interesting moments chatting. It was just like yesterday when we first met. I am happy that you live on in Christ though your passing was a rude shock and depressing. However, I cherish those moments we had even though we never got to meet physically as planned. My friend, sister and classmate, I will miss you. Rest in the blossom of the Lord till meet as saints at His feet to part no more. I pray for comfort, peace and strength for your darling husband, lovely children. God will uphold them and make them great. Rest in peace my dear friend. You shall surely be missed by FGCL Class of 86 Set.

We recall with nostalgia our childhood memories at Tonia International College. We recall how our education was impacted positively by a sincere, honest, straightforward, sensitive and firm woman who is no longer with us. We were shocked when the news of your death was broken on our alumni forum. It was indeed a sad day for everyone of us. We wish there were more people like you around so that this world would be a better place. The life lessons you taught us won't be forgotten. We pray for the repose of your soul. May the good lord grant you eternal rest. May your family and loved ones be comforted that you are resting from the many troubles of this world. Amen. My dearest big Cousin, Aunty Ify. We were meant to grow old together, experiencing life with you holding my hand as always. You’ve always been there to celebrate every milestone and it’s so sad to see you go. Your laughter, your kind words, your bubbly aura, your selfless love, your wisdom, your endless gifts, your prayers, and your super yummy fried rice. They say everybody dies but not everybody lives. You LIVED Aunty and you will live forever in our hearts. Rest Well. Till we meet again.
