June Stolk-Kent

I met June in Canada through Morag her friend of many years . June was happy person and a delight to talk to. She spent many a time at our dinner table and also spent time with our group of Girls known as the Chowder Gals . . Along with myself and the girls we send you lots of love remember the good times with her and be happy that you got so much time with her . We will remember June with fondness. Jackie Blake

I first met June in Ankara 50 years ago where our husbands both worked for Shell, and we became good friends both on and off the tennis courts. Later when we met up again in The Hague for periods of time, she was still the most delightful person to be with. I shall always remember June for her warmth ,her sense of fun,and her dignity. To Richard, Chris and family, Peter and I send our sincerest sympathy for your sad loss.

June was such a lovely lady: bubbly, fun, and despite her pint size, a demon on the tennis court, especially at the net. Such a staunch supporter of Rafa, too! Am sure everyone has fond memories of her and I’ll miss not seeing her when I next pass through NL. Sincere condolences en sterkte.

Dear Richard and Chris, I joined the Ladies Badminton Club over a year ago. After I had first played June and was out maneuvered by her, I was asked by some of the other ladies what age I thought June was. I thought 60s, 70's ... and the twinkle in the others' eyes as they responded portrayed the love and pride they felt for June. As I got to know her better I saw the beautiful woman that she was and her remarkable 'joy de vivre'. I am so glad that I met June, she certainly showed us how to celebrate life.

We will miss June in our tennis group. June was always such a joy to be with but not always to play tennis against! She was unbelievable at the net and would never miss a volley and her love for Nadal was legendary. She was always the best turned out player as well. I first met June more than 20 years ago, my daughter and June's granddaughter were born around the same time and we could all see how much joy this brought her. She was such an inspiration enjoying life to the full and she will be greatly missed.

Dear Richard and Chris, I’m thinking of you and your families at this very sad time. June was born the same summer as my own mother who we lost nearly 8 years ago and that made it even more special for me knowing your wonderful mother! As everyone has shared she was an inspiration to us all! I loved chatting to her and hearing about her life! She often asked after my sons one who played with us when home from university. I looked forward to when June’s tennis season was over and we’d see her again at badminton! I will never forget her! It was such a very great privilege to know her!

My sincere condolences go to all of June's family. Having played badminton with June these past 7 years, I found her approach to life to be a real inspiration, which I often recounted to others and truly hope I can follow. Her secret she said was to keep going...to never stop and I'm so pleased she was able to remain active and lead a full life right to the end. I will miss you June.
