John Milner

I discovered news only recently so this is rather late, however I felt compelled to just say that John was my best friend in life, even to this day - we met very early at age 5 in Totley, and were extremely close for many years until we went our separate ways for university. We generally lost touch some years later but despite that I always retained huge admiration for him - his integrity, honesty & intelligence. It made a genuine difference to have such a friend while growing up and I'll always be grateful for that. Farewell John - I miss you greatly.

i received this message from FABRIZIO in bravo tankers in genoa yesterday, who john used to work with the past. '' i was on holiday last week and just heard the sad news that our friend John milner passed away recently,. i am so sorry... there are no words to express my sad sentiment . i spoke to him two years ago more or less. i was so happy at the time remembering the great time all together, today is really sad day. my real condolences. trust me there are people that you meet while you walking on our 'path of life'... some you may see just for a while but u ll remember for long time,. very sad. RIP john.

john and i really got on from our first time meeting each other, from the off, we'd go have a few beers me and him and i remember after every time i come away after i'd feeling great and happy, i used to wind him up about his fancy scarfs he wore and about how much he loved that pokemon game. in the short time i knew him i knew he had great love for his family and how genuine he was, if we'd chat about work I'm having a bad week he'd turn it completely on its head and find a positive. I will miss you in the dock mate, much love will xxx

John I will never forget the fun we had hunting Pokémon together which would always end with a pint(or two). I have lost a great friend in Clarksons and a hole has been left that will never be filled. Your kindness and generosity was without bounds and I will miss that email asking for the sparkling water to be changed. Be at peace bud, gone but never to be forgotten.

John we shared a birth date and shared many great table tennis memories in recent years. We chewed the fat over many post match beers. A great guy with a cracking backhand! Will be terribly missed by me and all your table tennis contacts and friends.

John was a true gentleman in the industry. A kind, genuine friend who always made me laugh. Gone far too soon. Thoughts are with his family.

Like so many I never thought I'd ever be writing this. John, I will miss your smiling face and your cheeky sense of humour. We shared many fun conversations in and out of work and of course glasses of wine. You are forever a true Gentleman. Rest in Peace my friend.Gail x

Like many others I met John at Shell, always enjoyed chatting about football with him and bumped into him regularly in the Coal Hole after work, or at lunchtime in the old days. Taken far too early, condolences to John's family.
