FOR HE WAS A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW.. How can one even begin to speak of Jerome... our dear Jerry as he was more popularly known when we still cannot fathom or understand why he was snatched away from us so early! Jerry was an intelligent, well-read, fun-loving, jolly, warm, kind, and compassionate person. Always laughing or cracking a joke...easy to get along with and very down-to-earth. He had once said, “If one has good friends, good books and good food in life...what else can one really want or need?” He was one of the most popular and friendly TISSians on campus, and was so easy going and approachable having made solid lifelong friendships with not just us his fellow batchmates but also his seniors and juniors. Simple and pure hearted was our dear Jerome - full of mischief...and yet always championing the cause of the underdog and the less privileged. He had reached the pinnacle of his career as a senior person working with his heart and soul in the development sector seeking to improve the lives of marginalised communities. We salute you Jerome...and will never forget your joie de vivre and infectious laughter! May God hold you in his arms and may you rest there forever in peace! WE LOVE YOU AND WILL DEARLY MISS YOU!!!!

How to describe Jerry? How to remember him? A jovial fun loving, sensitive, irritating, sometimes obnoxious, sweet person, with a sharp wit, alert mind, keen interest and a passion for the underprivileged. We connected on several counts - from Presidency College (where I hardly recall meeting him, but he remembered many things), TISS (though in different times periods and doing different things), development sector, Kolkata, Praajak......often I would receive messages from different people - Jerome/da asked me to ask you.....he would unfailingly know who to connect to whom for whatever one was seeking....he mentored many because he listened carefully and cared enough to prod, guide and propel them forward. Jerry the irreverent and yet most revered. Hugs and lots of love to you..............

I met Jerry in Ribander, Goa when he was with PRADAN. I had gone in inquiring about what they did and to check out summer internship opportunities as an MBA student with GIM. He was so friendly and knowledgeable, we struck a rapport that only grew with time so much so he invited me and another friend to his place for dinner. It was one of the best evenings of my life, we planned the dinner menu, did grocery shopping together, cooked, laughed, had great conversations - serious as well as light hearted. He did not take himself seriously nor did he take his work or values lightly...he had a balanced approach and commanded respect from those around him. May his soul be at peace and his family have the strength to move on with all the wonderful memories he leaves behind with those whom he crossed paths with.
