Herbert Klein

Herbert was known for his love of people and his creator Jehovah. At the same time, he was adventurous and explored the world. He not only called Germany home, but he had a fondness for each of the places where he had lived: New Zealand, France, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, Greece or Belgium. He was a devoted husband to his dear wife Hilde with whom he shared 62 years of his life. He worked hard to give his sons Hans-Jürgen, Dietmar and Dirk a solid foundation for their lives. He embraced his daughters-in-law Arlette, Susanne and Maria as if they were his own. His delight in his grandchildren Garance, Jordan, Stephanie and Jared was seen by all. The foundation of his life became his love, devotion and worship of our creator Jehovah. He fully lived his faith, and tried to reflect his creator’s love in helping many to come to know Jehovah, and to grow in their service to him also. While he will be greatly missed, we relish the opportunity to see him again just as Jehovah has promised (Daniel 12:13).

Dear family. We are sending you our warm love and thoughts. Losing a father and grandfather that has always been there takes time to learn to cope with. We loved Herbert too. His warmth and caring for us all was outstanding and he was such a force in the congregation, when we came to Hughes in 1991. The dinners we had together with Herbert and Hilde, the friendship and work together in the field will not be forgotten. We pray Jehovah will comfort all in the Klein family in this time of deep loss. Herbert was a dear brother in the faith and a wonderful example of love and hospitality. We remember fondly how he let us stay in his home, although he did not know us at this point. Herbert & Hilde showed us such kindness and love. At the time Stephanie was probably about 2 years old and the delight written across Herbert's face when he picked her up in his big arms at the kingdom hall was truly unforgettable. He looked a picture-perfect grandfather with the warmest glint in his eyes and the widest smile we ever saw. We look forward to see Herbert and Hilde once again and meeting them looking years younger than we ever saw them. With lots of love
