Gill Espley

I have lots of lovely memories of Gill having first met her when I was 11! Gill and Shaun were always so welcoming and I practically lived at their house for many a weekend through high school. Gill always asked after the boys, knitting them blankets and the cutest hoodies, and the cutest little octopus too! I will always remember her giggle. One memory which makes me laugh is when she told me, with a very concerned look, that I had something on my face at Balnefest - to which I replied yes it’s glitter…. I put it there myself! To which she burst out laughing. Not my most artistic moment haha. Gill was really good company, we had a lovely afternoon at the dragon boat race one year. Gill spent the afternoon spoiling Joseph with toys and food and rides, just so happy to be able to watch Jeanette and have a little one to entertain and we had a fab day. Jeanette you’re like a sister to me and I’ve always felt so comfortable around your lovely Mum. It saddens me so much that I won’t hear her giggle again but I’m so grateful to have known her and to have been a part of her wide circle of family and friends. So much love to you all, I know how much you will miss her but I hope you’re able to take comfort from knowing just how much people thought of her, how much we loved her and that you really did have a one in a million. She will be greatly missed and I feel very lucky to have had Gill in our lives. Lots of love, Caz, Andy, Joseph and Seb xxx

Gill, I have so many fond memories from my childhood when I visited your home to play as kids with Jeanette. Such a kind and caring person who made the best cake mix that I remember licking from the mixing bowl. More recently, I'm so glad that I got the chance to have a regular chat with you, when I had the pleasure of walking gorgeous Bonnie. You always had the ability to put a smile on my face with your kindness and humour. You will be very missed xxx
