Broda Dayo holds a special place in our hearts, as our earliest memories of him are of his warmth and acts of kindness. From the days in Festac, where he and his beloved wife, Aunty Dele, became cherished neighbours, to the treasured moments of shared celebrations and evening strolls, his presence brought us so much cheer. His gentle demeanour, coupled with an infectious sense of humour, made him a welcome ally. As our mum's cousin, he was the relative who lived closest to us in Festac Town. He fully embodied the essence of an uncle, offering unwavering support and understanding to each member of our family, especially in the tumultuous teenage years. Even when they moved to Ogudu, the bond remained steadfast, bridging the physical gap. It was great to see Brother Dayo in his early years of faith and transition to his role as our pastor, making the reunion at New Realm Baptist Church so memorable.  Broda Dayo's journey demonstrated not just his commitment to spiritual and personal growth but also the profound impact he has had on our lives. His dedication to serving others, coupled with his compassionate spirit, is indeed an inspiration. We are grateful for his presence, his wisdom, and the love he so generously bestows upon us, for which we are eternally grateful.

Tribute to Rev. Dr. Gideon Adedayo Tayo by His Disciples from The First Baptist Church, Lagos. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.“ ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Reverend Dr. Gideon Adedayo Tayo was respectfully and simply called Pastor Tayo. He was godsent to The First Baptist Church in the mid 1990s. He was introduced by late Deaconess Esisi and invited by Deaconess Omotunde Oshodi to the Church. The Church was going through a transition and several members were seeking to know God in a personal and intimate way. We eagerly joined the Discipleship program with faith that we would find what we sought. Pastor Tayo was a true teacher; calm, strict, prayerful and ready to learn along side his disciples. Each disciple came to a personal relationship with God through confession of sins and acceptance of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Every lesson was practical and impactful. We learnt, wept, comforted ourselves, and most importantly grew in Christ. Many of us struggled to complete the program(s) but with his encouragement we did! We rejoice to report that God showed up in our midst! Testimonies of transformed lives and situations abound! Ministry paths were found and clarified! If each of us should decide to narrate our journey, we would compile a whole book! Pastor Tayo continued to nurture his disciples even after the completion of the program. With his encouragement, we also arranged discipleship programs for others and grew the circle eagerly. We testify that all his disciples under his reverent, purposeful and committed tutelage are now Leaders, Deacons/Deaconesses, and Pastors. Each of us continues to make disciples along our way in our homes, offices, Churches, businesses and wherever we are called to serve. We testify that Reverend Dr. Gideon Adedayo Tayo has fought the good fight and finished his race. May the Almighty comfort his children, grandchildren and entire family.

It is a hard thing to see loved ones go. A father to his brothers and my dad. Big daddy Supreme your impact spans more than just uncle Diji and Bro Joju, it is also evident in every single Tayo. Till we go the way of all men. Keep resting sir.

It is so difficult to come to terms with the reality that you are no more with us on this side of eternity. You paid your dues and you made your mark. You were a gentle and humble teacher. Keep resting in the bossom of our Lord and Savior till the ressurection morning. Adieu !!!

Baba Diji you quietly sneaked out of this broken world unannounced. You reminded us of your quiet nature. I remember when we were together at Ogudu. You can hardly hurt a fly talk less of human beings. I never thought you would die before me. You have fought a good fight of faith. I know quite honestly that death does not differentiate people - either old or young, rich or poor, male or female, white or black, baby or adult, even foetus is not spared. I pray that God will uphold your children, siblings and other family members left behind in Jesus' name. Amen. Reverend Tayọ rest in the bossom of your Creator - Oluwatominiyi David Babatunji.

Revd Tayo, You were a Teacher, a brother and my Counselor . Your counsel in 2000 led to a miracle in my life for which I am forever grateful. I enjoyed the Home Fellowship meetings and the Medical Mission Outreaches we had together. Even in the days of adversity, you forged ahead. Good night, Revd Tayo. Adieu!!!
