TRIBUTE TO A LOVING FRIEND. George Olukayode Akande Osun was an ICON. A bosom friend and an associate for over 70 years. He was a Historian, a Political Scientist, a thorough Administrator and a fine Banker. He was among the founding father of the Mesiogo Executive Club which was formed in January 1973 and as a matter of fact, he was a Pioneer President of the club for a period of four years. During this period, he laid a solid foundation and his contribution to the growth of the club till Sunday, 11 th December 2022 could not be overemphasized Kayode was highly interested in the News around the whole world and read so many books on World Dictators like Stanlin of Soviet Union whose power was so monstrous that several flattering hymns were composed for him at the end of the day Stanlin memory was completely blocked out of history, so leaders like General Marvel Autonia Nuregua of Panama, Missoloni the founder of Italian Facist, whose body was hanged on the heel outside a garage in Milan, Adolf Hitler, Trujille Moliwa, Nuregua, General Idi Amin, Searget Kenyan Doe of Liberia and host of others. By the Grace of God, I fully enjoyed our friendship which bloomed for over 70 years. He was full of hard work, very resilient, TIMELINESS and punctual. He always urge members of the club not to postpone till tomorrow what we could today, that was why he would never come late to the club meeting or office or any other appointment. What a great example in timekeeping and punctuality. He always gave attention to details and would not give room for anything that was not well organized. Honestly, if wishes were roses, then I would have prayed that the Almighty God bring him back to us. But since this is not the case, we accept the will of God. We thank God that you are now resting in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ, and may his love and peace be with us all. You remained an epitome of hard-working, reliable, social, very articulate, full of selfless service to mankind, an embodiment of discipline and epitome of contentment. Your memory will continue to linger in our hearts forever. I cannot close this tribute without an elegy in his sweet memory. The end of the rod, you struggled to know but you never lived to make it known. With endless fright death rubbed unknown! A great companion for over 70 years stolen! Yet we are all prone. But to those for whom the blood atones. It’s a dance for the kingdom’s tune No wonder we are not sleep drown For we know, you are on the Lord’s throne Posterity depicts today, your unbroken bone How in your nice nature, you carved great clones Valued beyond rubies, beyond bronzes Therefore we know, you cannot be dethroned Till we join you on the Lord’s throne While we yet nurture the gemstones We also pray to make it to the throne. Tribute to a Noble Friend. The sudden home call to the glory of Elder Olukayode Akande barely two weeks after our club's meeting confirms the transient nature of life. He was hale and hearty at the meeting that no one would have thought he was holding his last meeting with us that day. Elder Olukayode Akande was the epitome of courage and determination.; a classic example of how to achieve greatness the honest way, even in the face of many challenges in life. Elder Olukayode Akande was an upright and highly principled man who would not, for any reason whatsoever compromise on integrity. Blunt and unassuming, he had zero tolerance for incompetence and laziness. He was reliable, dependable and disciplined. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

We received the news of the demise of our dear member Pa G.O. Akande with a rude shock on Sunday 11 th December 2022. It was never expected as there was no previous information concerning his ill- health. It took us by surprise; Pa Akande was the Pioneer President of this club when it was founded in the year 1975. He managed the club creditably well by laying a very good and solid foundation. Pa Akande Osun as he was fondly called by his friends was a highly respected and disciplined member. He was diligent and highly revered by all and sundry. He lived an exemplary life which was emulated by many. We wish he lived up to a very ripe old age but God knows why He took him away so soon. However, we believe in the saying that it is not how long but how well. He will be greatly missed by the club. His position in the club will be very difficult to fill, but we take solace in God in that he is resting in the bosom of his creator. Interestingly, he was one of my guests at my November 2022 club’s meeting , the last he attended before his death, so I as a person will greatly miss him. Akande Osun, Rest in peace in the bosom of your creator till we meet to part no more. We pray that God would uphold, comfort and sustain the children and the entire family. Adieu, a great thinker. Dear baba Akande, The news of your death came as a rude shock. Though painful, we give thanks to God for a life well spent, knowing that you are in a better place resting in the bossom of the Almighty God. During your lifetime the love and light of Christ in you reflected so much in the way you treated people around you,You were very gentle, loving, kind, considerate and humble. Our prayer is that the Almighty God consoles the family. Rest in peace baba Akande!

The news of your death was shocking but thank God that you lived a very impactful life. I worked directly with Mr.Akande and I found him very hard working,resourceful, intelligent with wealth of experience that was unsurpassable and integrity that was second to none. A very humble, frank and unassuming personality with uncommon wisdom, Mr.Akande was a lover of people and he loved to radiate love and joy. He will be sorely missed . Dear Daddy, the news of your demise came as a shock to me. You were very strong and well, never sad but always happy. You are very humble, nice, prayerful, generous , peaceful, disciplined and not troublesome . I really love you as a good Father. Your wise counsel are treasures I will keep forever . His love for his children and grandchildren is second to none. A very good dancer who loves to play and dance with his children and grandchildren. Your grand daughter wept bitterly when she heard you have gone to be with the Lord . She said, "my grandfather didn't wait to celebrate my birthday with me this year''. This shows how much she misses you.With you Daddy, everyday is a happy day .All of us will continue to miss you forever as a perfect gentle man, humble and loving Father. You are the best Father, Grandfather and Father - in- law anyone can have on earth . Rest on, great Dad. May God grant your soul eternal rest, Amen
