Forough cared deeply about the well-being of people around her. She knew how to make everyone feel included, cherished, loved and important. As a scientist, her research focused on understanding the mechanisms involved in developing immunity to a deadly infectious disease. She was so down to earth that no one would even suspect that she was an internationally recognized scientist with many awards and accomplishments. Forough’s passion for partnership building in translational life sciences and helping other researchers succeed, brought her to Mitacs where she helped many researchers realize the true potential of their discoveries. She had the most contagious and genuine laugh. She would make you laugh even if she was really in pain. Sadly, we only had her in our world for a short period but she made our lives happier, kinder and more joyful. We will all remember Forough’s passion for Mitacs, enthusiasm for innovation, and her positive outlook on life. We invite you to share your memories of Forough here.
