Fábio Hazin

On behalf of the Australian Government and its Permanent Mission to the United Nations, I wish to offer my most sincere condolences and sympathy for the passing of Professor Fábio Hazin. He made a deep and lasting contribution to the international fisheries and law of the sea community, especially through the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna and other regional fisheries management organisations, the FAO Agreement on Port State Measures and the Informal Consultations of State Parties to the United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this sad time. Deeply saddened to hear that Prof. Fábio Hazin has passed away. I had the pleasure of working with him on many occasions and will miss him dearly. It is a tremendous loss for the Law of the Sea and Ocean community. Please extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

I was surprised to hear of the passing of Prof. Fabio Hazin. On behalf of my Government, I offer my sincere condolences to the Government of Brazil and to his family in this difficult time.
