Elder Bassey O. Ekong

Please accept my sympathy. Elder Ekong has lived well and may his soul rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the entire family. May his soul continue to rest in the bossom of the Almighty and may God keep all those he left behind.

I deeply sympathize with the family of late Elder Bassey Ekong. Though he was full of age, a child or wife can hardly get to the level where he or she needs no further love of the father or husband. Despite the pain of the loss, I entreat the family to feel fulfilled in the legacies the departed left behind, the discipline in he planted in his children and the heart of sacrificial love the children inherited from him. May the good Lord sustain the family and give them the grace to bear the big loss.

I am surely missing my uncle, Uncle BOU, a man with a very good heart and strong love. Though we stayed far apart before his departure to glory, my heart and that of my siblings were strongly knitted together with his through the strong love he had for us (my mother, his sister, Late Deaconess Edung Effiong Essien, my father, Late Rev. Effiong Ekong Essien, and my siblings). None of us can forget, while we were kids back in the village. Whenever Uncle BOU came home from Sapele, he would fully load his vehicle with all sorts of goods, from food stuff to other gifts items for us. He never failed to do this every time he came home. He made sure we and his children, my cousins, were very close by bringing the family to our house on regular basis, and also encouraging exchange of visits amongst us cousins. Uncle BOU is a man we love so dearly and we will miss him. He is a man that loves God, this is why it was very easy for him to love others. I don't have enough words but all I can say is that we love him but God loves him more. May the good Lord console us as He has taken His own to be with Him in glory. Amen

A good soul has passed on, a good man has gone up to heaven. My wife and I express our sincere sympathy to you and your family. Your loss saddens us and others. I pray for strength for you and please accept our condolences.
