A Half Hour was worth it. How does one say that reconnecting with an old childhood friend and neighbor for only a ½ hour after 30 years is worth it? I can, and cannot at the same time. If the alternative is to never see that person again. That would be worse. We did not chat long, nor did we need to. We have forever memories. Youthful times when we had few obligations or cares. The early wake-up screams across Main Road, playing cricket, pitching marbles and catching little fishes became our priorities. Pushing you into the pool when I thought you could swim is etched in my mind. And watching you drive your family’s white Ford Cortina with covered red velvet seats was a treat. We even played basketball years later, as young men. I lived a great childhood, and you were one of the reasons for that. And I can only marvel as you went on to start a great family for which you should be proud of. So I thank you for sharing that time of our lives when we could only dream of our futures. All those thoughts were wrapped up into that short visit in June 2023. It was worth every minute. So I am sad yet grateful that we did share that ½ hour Edward. From the kid across the street. I am going to miss you. God bless.
