Derek lived a short and powerful life that touched the hearts of so many. He loved his dog Darby and his family. He had a passion for his connections with others, cool self edge fashion, unique tennis shoes, skateboarding, travel, Dredge music, travel, sushi and mexican food, warcraft video game, the Earthquake and Chelsea soccer team, 49ers and the Giants and technology. Loved to laugh and had the greatest smile. The kindest young man in the entire world. One of his best friends, Dom, created the saying, "What Would Derek Do?" WWDD. I spent countless hours as a kid playing with my neighbor Derek. Playing on his Nintendo, building launch ramps for bikes and rollerblades, building a fort out of branches on the hill, bike rides, basketball in the driveway, hide and seek, soccer teams, or exploring the neighborhood. He was a great friend!
