Claire Mitham

Omg only just read about this. I was once her boyfriend. I was very fond of her we had a few good ole laughs when we were together. My deepest condolences to all her family & friends. I an so sorry even writing this is very difficult.

It was with great sadness that I heard of Claire's passing. She had a unique mix of wonderful qualities of compassion for those in real need, a great sense of humor, resilience, positivity, honesty, and strength. It was a joy working with her. She will be greatly missed.

It was a very sad day when i learned that Claire was no longer with us, she was a passionate person who enjoyed her work and supporting colleagues, she gave so much of her time to work even while in hospita. I enjoyed working with her, she left her mark and we have many fond memories I hope that she is now able to rest in peace. xx

I salute a brave and principled trade unionist whose example should guide us in our forthcoming struggles. She cared for Middlesex and wanted the best for all concerned. She knew that secure and confident staff was key to student success. We agreed that the glib slogan `putting students first' being bandied about was lopsided because the university was a learning community for ALL and that our voices needed to be heard. She was in the forefront challenging the preposterously named `People Programme', winning hearts and minds all along. I have the honour of having observed the best attended union meeting in my 38 years at MDX which passed an overwhelming vote of `no confidence' in the previous VC.The struggle continues.

My condolences to Claire's family. Claire was a much loved friend and colleague who always focused on helping others, she will be remembered by us all with a deep fondness.
