Chisako Okada

Chi was a kind and friendly lady who was a valued member of the team. I am thinking of Chi’s family at this sad time and send my deepest condolences.

I was so shocked to hear the sad news of Chi’s passing. Chi was always smiling and I remember when she was thinking of buying a dog she was so excited. Chi will be missed by all who knew her. Xx

Rachel (Brooks), Chi and I ran the MSc in Child Health together for about 10 years. We were a tight little team of three, and had a lot of fun together. Chi was a fantastic administrator and just a joy to work with. Rachel and I felt blessed that she found us! The three of us had lunch together before she went off to Japan. It was a lovely occasion. Afterwards I enjoyed following her time there on her Facebook She was very proud of you Kai, and the young man you have grown up to be. She often talked of you to us. Please accept by sympathy and best wishes at this sad time for you and your family

I feel so lucky to have worked with Chi, she was such a wonderful person, always smiling and always so positive. A delight to be around. I was so so saddned to hear the news. My thoughts are with Kai and all the family.

I am fortunate to have worked with Chi - if only for a short time. I really enjoyed her company and discussing our mutual love of dogs. She was kind, funny and knowledgeable and will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with Chi's family at this very sad time

I was lucky enough to interview and give Chi her first job at Cardiff university. We made an excellent decision that day. She was fabulous to work with on the MSc in child health, cheerful, helpful, kind and supportive. It was lovely to work alongside her again in the undergraduate department and she never changed. Always always kind and interested in how you were, fantastic at her job, the sort of colleague that makes the work place a more cheerful place to be. We had a lovely lunch together on a hot sunny day in Penarth before her move to Japan and I am so glad we did and will remember her always fondly.

I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Chi’s illness and passing. We shared such a great conversation just before she fell ill. I will never forget what a wonderful human being she was! Such a gentle soul and so so kind. Sending all the love and wishes to Kai & Chi’s family and friends x
