Cheryl Stroet

I am so sorry to hear of Cheryl’s passing. She was a wonderful neighbour and beautiful neighbour.

Lorrice & John We met Cheryl 27 years ago. The connection was made through Carolyn & John. We have always loved being with Cheryl. Whilst in her presence we were always laughing. Cheryl had a wonderful warm & caring nature. All who met her would have benefited from the love & joy she embraced you with. Cheryl will now be with her beloved Ben. May you rest in peace Cheryl!

I met Cheryl at the age of 5. We were both “only children” who clicked immediately & became joined at the hip. At one stage Cheryl went missing from primary school which of course caused a major panic, only for her to be found in my bed as I had chicken pox & she was missing me too much. I won’t mention some of the things that were said about that! From that time on I never knew what she would do next. As she grew older she was certainly the life & soul of any party with her wicked (& very often outrageous & naughty) sense of humour & her ability to make everyone laugh. I remember her tap dancing, & of course singing, on her coffee table in Adelaide at one particular event. Over the years she added to her repertoire of fun with the “nose spaghetti”, the “disabled car park” antics & many more. Such a funny & fun loving but a kinder more thoughtful friend you could never find. I remember one day in my kitchen turning around to see her standing there, coming all the way from Brisbane to Melbourne because she “felt” I needed her. (And she was right). She was always doing something for someone even though she went through some hard times herself. 75 years on we were still best friends who loved each other dearly. Her leaving has taken a huge piece of my heart with her. Never ever to be forgotten. Much love to Karyn & Guy, & Tahnee, Simon, Adelaide & Fletcher

Cheryl my dear friend, lit up any get togethers with her jokes, funny stories she always told . You will certainly be missed , will always be remembered with always a smile on my face . So happy and lucky to have met you Cheryl. Love you all the family .

The body is gone but the memories will last with me till I’m gone. Such a special lady in my life. Condolences to all.

Karyn, Tahnee, and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Cheryl always brought such a bright spark to conversations and we will never forget her quick wit and wicked sense of humor. Our family will miss her friendship deeply.

Cheeky Hilarious Exhilarating Radiant Young at heart Loved so much ❤️ Will never, never forget beautiful Cheryl and her wicked sense of humour and absolute kindness, always doing something kind for someone. I remember my first visit to her place with Mum in tow. She made the most divine pavlova for us and had us in fits of laughter. I had the pleasure of working with Cheryl and most of the time she worried me to death. When I heard her laughter it meant trouble. I’d see her sitting on the floor after falling off her chair, laughing so much. Or she’d be chasing my son around the office playing paper planes when he visited or giving my eldest the accounts to do, telling me how good at maths he was. I really giggled one day when she came into the office all serious and said she had to discuss something important. Her filing system. She said ‘I have a special file called the Pita file’. At first I thought she said the ‘Pedophile’ and gulped with concern. She then said, ‘PITA is Pain in the Arse’ and burst out laughing. I’m sure you will all recognise a few names in that file :-) I heard that she jumped out of a birthday cake once. I can just imagine! She sold something online to a guy and arranged for him to come around to her home at night to collect it when she was by herself. I remember giving her the ‘safety talk’ and encouraging her to meet buyers in public places. Cheryl wasn’t bothered. She feared nothing! Thank you Cheryl family and friends for sharing at the memorial celebration and on this site. I love hearing about all the mischief Cheryl got up to! Tahnee, Karyn, Guy, Fletcher, Adelaide and Family. You were treasured by Cheryl. She loved you so much and talked about you every single day. Your Mum was a legend! Go the Bombers!

The funniest, loveable dancing queen who will forever be in my memories watching mama Mia and listening to ABBA. Always trying to sneak me extra lollies or getting me to jump on my mums bed. Will forever remember Cheryl :)
