Ben Hodge, Jr.

Brother Ben was my first and only spiritual father. From the evening service that I had first heard an invitation to Jesus Christ on October 4, 1981 leading to my acceptance of Jesus as my Lord and Savior the very next evening - Oct 5, 1981 - to this day there could never be another human being that has touch me as much as Brother Ben. He accepting me where I was (a street rat) and taught me how to love the Word of God; how to never give up while I worked my way through college; but more importantly he taught me how to be a man and how to raise a godly family. See you in heaven Brother Ben. Love you much.

I can remember Pastor Ben’s smile greeting me as I walked through the foyer into the sanctuary. I remember his booming bass voice in the choir and oh how he loved his hymnals. He had a way with words and I remember how he would describe a delicious baked pie, but mostly, I remember him preaching the word of God. He loved sharing Jesus and it was evident. I’m grateful to have known him. My condolences to all his family, love you all.

Our deepest condolence and love to Mr. Hodge family. He was an amazing, caring and loveable person. He was a good example of kindness and service to others. My love and prayers are with his family at this time of mourning.

I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Pastor Ben, He was such a shinning light to everyone that he came in contact with, I was blessed to have known and work with him for 30 years, every time he saw me it was always "How is my little Mary today and give me the biggest hug and say love you little one" He was such a comfort to me when I lost both of my parents and I couldn't imagine anyone else I wanted on my side!!! I know he is rejoicing in Heaven. May God bless and comfort the entire Hodge Family in this difficult time, and that God wraps his arms around you all to give you comfort in the great memories!!!! Pastor Ben I will miss you always and forever!!!!!

June 19, 2020 Dearest Hodge Family, We were so saddened to hear about the passage of Pastor Hodge. He along with the rest of you left such a dear impression on our family over the years while Andrea attended Bethel. We always felt nurtured, loved and welcomed among all of you. Those years at Bethel were some of the greatest for our family. Dear Pastor Hodge was such an important force in this process. Whenever and however we would run into him throughout the years that followed he always had a smile and a warm hug ready for any of us. You must hear over and over that he had this same affect on many people over the years. He was truly a man of God who spent his life ministering to everyone around him. There'll never be another Uncle Ben. He will be missed! I'm thankful he's no longer suffering and is rejoicing in Heaven with our wonderful Savior Jesus! What an amazing reunion we have to look forward to!
