Barry was a musician, an electrician and all-round good guy. Never one to complain, he was kind, practical, supportive, patient and loving... a great role model!. He always had a smile on his face ... and a wicked sense of humour! He was son to Charlie and Ivy, brother to his siblings, husband to Geraldine, the "best dad in the world" to Jenny and Neil, brother-in-law to Eileen and Allan, uncle to Alex and Jon and a great friend to too many to list.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of the family. For right now, there's no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry, or that we forget. It means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28 which says, "...all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection. That is our amazing hope! The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us and keeps us from drowning in overwhelming sadness. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now, during this time of sorrow. My condolences go out to the family. I am so sorry too hear of the lost of a dear loved one to this family. Dealing with this situation can be the hardest thing to face. God's word the bible gives heartfelt and true meaning for ones sleeping in death; Revelation 21: 3,4 says: 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” God also promises a hope for ones to have life again at John 5: 28,29a : Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out. We are really sadden by the passing of Barry. Neighbours for last 17 + years Barry, Geraldine and Neil have been really lovely neighbours and have been very tolerant with our dog Kenji who still thinks next door is his territory. Barry definitely was the perfect gentleman ( very rare these days). Barry was very knowledgeable on almost everything we ever chatted about, when mowing his lawn in the front garden, we would often have long chats and get updated about the neighbourhood, Barry knew so much about the local history and was always happy to share it.Its funny how we seem to know the nature of our associates neighbour in this case) just by conversing. Its been really nice to know that so many people had the same to say about Barry. We wish all the best to Geraldine, Neil and Jenny and sure that Barry will always be here in spirit to guide them.
