Anne McLeod

xx xx, xxxx - xx xx, xxxx

In memory of our much loved colleague of 17 years, Anne McLeod (Senior Lecturer in Critical Care and Programme Director for Adult Nursing at City, University of London). Anne embodied the best qualities of a nurse academic; she was hard working, loyal, resourceful and had a fantastic sense of humour. Anne was an exceptionally compassionate and caring person who was always mindful of the welfare of those around her. Anne’s fierce advocacy for students was at the heart of everything she did. Her spirit will live on in the thousands of City nursing students she taught, and their contributions to healthcare will be her lasting legacy. We will miss Anne so very much; our thoughts are with her family and friends at this incredibly sad and difficult time.

Anne was a fantastic role model and inspiration for all new critical care nurses. Its so strange to see my essays now that she marked on the ICU course with all the thoughtful and specific comments that she made. I do believe that she was a uniquely talented lecturer who touched many nurses lives and will be missed by so many. I have many fond memories as others will undoubtedly have. A big loss to many future generations of nurses. Rest in Peace. xx

Although Anne wasn't my mentor I felt like many others she was. She had time for us all and gave all her students bottomless encouragement. You have touched the lives of so many. I'm eternally grateful to you. You are now and forever a legend in the nursing world. .

Still find it so hard to accept. Working with Anne you could ask her to do ANYTHING you needed. She would shoot you a cheeky glare and that knowing smile. Such a big hearted individual with a fabulous sense of humour.

I will never forget Anne. I wouldnt have passed my nursing course if she never believed me, and stuck up for me when my placement did me wrong. For some reason I cant forget when she brought me a drink at costas and looked at me funny when I asked for green tea lol. I am deeply saddened and hope her family pull through this deep loss. Thank you Anne and may you rest in peace xxx

It’s like a bad dream as I can’t even bring myself to accept that you’re gone Anne. An amazing teacher, full of fun and very empathetic. You taught me so much and I’ll never forget your lesson on kidney and transplant. It transformed me and my knowledge of my body and how I look after it. You were an examplary and dedicated nurse, loved intensive care. You can never be replaced. Farewell Ann. Your memories will live on. Rest with the angels

Oh Anne, it has taken me a while to come on this page as every time i try to think of the words i am still speechless and still cannot fathom this. I always remember you being on point with questions and answers and the willingness to find solutions to every situation encountered. As i am typing this the tears are trying to stop me from finishing. I remember you coming and asking me issues surrounding moodle and of course our students. You were a formidable force and there is no denying that you will truly be missed. I cannot believe that i will not see you in the office again at your desk... Rest well Anne X
