Amos, as he fondly preferred to call me. I remember several guides and tutoring as a young intern at ECAD Design Architects. I remember him pulling out his ecobank cheque and sending me to draw cash for him ahead of the weekend. Weekly. I remember, Funke.... I am setting out now. Help me wrap it well inside (referring to his dinner). I remember the boys, Amos and Tim. I remember your generosity. I remember sending me to Mr Abileopon (i guess I forgot his name) on Keffi street, where we pulled prints for Ecad at the early days. I remember your love for your wife. God bless and uphold her. May your soul rest in peace, Akannzie. I remember the Igbati squad (late Pa Ade and Pa Josh).

I have never met Arc Akanni in person but my cousin linked us back in 2012 when I was looking for a placement for my industrial training. I can say today that I am who I am because of your referral. Rest on sir. I am forever grateful.

The untimely death of Mr Akanni hit like a wrecking ball to the hearts of us all. Although he isn’t here with us physically he still lives on in our minds and hearts. You left a legacy and an image only the greatest of men can match. Only God can answer the question which we have all been asking. Why? Rest In Peace.

When I heard about your death.... I was perplexed... why should good people continue to die? and it was minutes later that the tears started rolling down not because of my pain but because death is inevitable to all of us, it's a debt we all are bound to pay one day. Sir..... I pray for God to rest your gentle soul in peace (amen
