I first met Dr. Campbell during a clinical meeting at SEEK when I was a behavior technician. I was interested in the CSULA ABA program and wanted to ask him questions. At first, I was a bit intimidated but his easy going personality made me feel comfortable to ask him all the questions I had. After meeting Dr. Campbell I was determined to apply to the CSULA ABA master’s program. Later, I was fortunate to become one of his student at CSULA. His dedication as a professor was evident by the way he taught his classes, he enjoyed sharing his knowledge by making sure we understood the concepts. He always made himself available after class and during office hours. I was also fortunate to have monthly clinical meetings with him at SEEK once I became a Behavior Analyst. I enjoyed meeting with him, I knew I would learn something new and be challenged at the same time. During the meetings he paid close attention, took notes, and explained what needed to be done thoroughly. One of the things he placed emphasis on was the measurement system being used. We are saying goodbye to you with a heavy heart but we will always remember you. Thank you for everything that you have taught me, I wouldn’t be the person I am today without all of your guidance.

I was honored to have met Dr.Campbell in 2017 at the SEEK Christmas party. I had previously heard many great things about him and was eager to introduce myself. I later had the opportunity to be his student at CSULA. I will always remember Dr.Campbell as a kind, genuine and encouraging man. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from him and know him personally. He was full of wisdom and beyond patient with all his students. Dr.Campbell was always able to see my true potential even when I lacked the confidence. That is something I will always cherish and be grateful for. He always pushed me to be the best version of myself. His mentorship, guidance and friendship were all instrumental throughout my graduate experience. You will be truly missed Dr.Campbell. Wishing love and positivity to his family and friends.

Dr. Campbell was more than an ABA mentor he was a life coach. His laugh was so contagious and made our consultation meetings much better. He was also tough on us when he needed to, yet he was extraordinary at guiding us in order to achieve professional growth. His feedback was awesome, filled with compassion and ethical integrity to best serve our clients. His guidance helped me grow within my professional life at SEEK and I will forever be grateful with Dr. Campbell. Though he is gone, he will always live in our hearts. I will hold and cherish all those wonderful moments I got to spend with him. Rest in peace Dr. C!!!

I was part of the CSULA cohort where he had to take a medical leave. When he came back to school and years later at a Christmas party, I saw him as invincible. He was a vital part of my learning. I will never forget the awkward counseling class where we had to record ourselves and rewatch/analyze later. How fair you were in requesting everyone's projects during your medical leave even though we were going to get a "passing grade" for the class being dropped because it was the right thing to do especially for those who worked so hard on it. My first preference assessment project where I thought of my project partner "why won't you just drink your water goal to earn your junk food?" Or one of the first class meetings where I had so much difficulty grasping the material and felt like dropping out, but he along with a part of my cohort gave me the motivation to continue (and I am glad I did). There was also the time when he took my supervision class in last minute when Dr. Wallace wouldn't be able to make it saving our supervision hours for the week (if you did not have supervision at school AND on site, none of your hours counted that week). However, the very best memory I have was the day of my oral comp (exam to graduate). I was so nervous and had to reschedule to the last available day due to my mom's accident where she needed extreme care. I had so many emotions that day, but I built the confidence to present. At the end of my presentation Dr. Campbell said "you presented so clear I do not have any questions" as he struggled to come up with at least one. Leaving that "scary" room to wait for my results was nerve wrecking. Once I heard the news that I had passed, I cried tears of joy! Thank you Dr. Campbell for believing in me. Your legacy will live on forever.

Dr. Campbell was present through the beginnings of my ABA career. During our monthly meetings, you provided feedback. I always looked forward to making you proud. I still remember you had a silver pen with a star on it, to grade our meetings. That is when I connected with you, that we both shared a passion to teach. Your knowledge and teachings will continue, as I write to others with your silver pen and dedication. Rest in paradise.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take Dr. Campbell's classes in CSULA as well as having him as my clinical advisor in SEEK. He was very sweet and kind. I went to his office hours often during my time in CSULA, with tons of questions, and he'd always very patiently answered each one, making sure I understood. He had such dedication to his students, I was very blessed to have had him as my mentor. Even after my school years, every time I had a meeting with him at SEEK, I remember stepping out with a smile. He was such a wonderful person and will always be in my heart.

I never got to know Dr. Campbell until i started Grad school. At first, I thought he was a bit intimidating when he interviewed me when I was applying to Grad school. After getting accepted and having him for my Counseling class, Dr. Campbell had so many jokes! He always wanted to keep the integrity of ABA alive and to make sure that those that we in the field understood the core values. Whenever I get to talk to him, he would tell me about his wife and his family. Especially the one time when I told him that the Holiday party had Disneyland tickets and he told me that his wife loves Disneyland so he's going to attend to see if he can get them. He was always a joyful person. I am so happy that I got to see him at school, at the office and during office events. Every opportunity that I got he always makes the day brighter and always had a big smile on his face. He will be missed dearly but his legacy will continue within the lives of those he touched and helped.

Dr. Campbell's laugh would normally be heard from any adjacent room on Wednesday mornings at the SEEK office. When it was time to sit with him for clinical meetings, he provided a warm smile that would calm the nerves when presenting client issues. He would ask a series of pertinent questions regarding the issue, record thorough notes, and acknowledge our accomplishments and improvements in our work before arriving at a solution while adding in a joke or two with a side of laughter before departing. Dr. Campbell knew how to set the right conditions to make his staff and students feel comfortable and optimal for learning so that they may all grow personally and professionally to help our consumers in need. We all miss you Dr. Campbell and your legacy will continue to live with all of us!

Although I only had a few experiences with Dr. Campbell, it was easy to tell he was a man dedicated to our field and he put his heart into his work. As a recent hire to SEEK Education in 2018, I had a couple of opportunities to work with Dr. Campbell during clinical consult meetings. His recommendations and advice went a long way in supporting our clients. I have heard tales of Dr. Campbell as being a funny man, but only having limited experiences within the clinical roles we shared together, I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to share in the experience of Dr. Campbell’s humor. Nevertheless, it was clear to me that Dr. Campbell was an easy-going person, and easy to talk to with a great spirit. Our field has suffered a loss with Dr. Campbell’s passing and he will be missed, but his legacy lives on through his work and impact upon those he has taught, guided, and mentored.

I am Vikanda. I first met Dr. Campbell on the orientation day at CSULA. He was my advisor and my support throughout my graduate program. Dr. Campbell was kind and supportive but yet stood strong on what needed to be done correctly. I, later on, found out that he also worked at SEEK Education where I was just a behavior technician with no degree and no knowledge about ABA. I feel special. He supported me throughout my school and my work. I cannot be who I am today without him. He supported me through several emotional occasions throughout my work and my graduate life. He made me smile and felt ok when he stated, “it’s ok, Vikanda, every graduate cried.” He became my support and the one I always looked for at SEEK Christmas party or at ABAI dinner with SEEK. I called him my Santa because each time he showed up, he lighted up the room, at least to me. He will continue to live in my ABA work, carry on his legacy. I will make him proud as much as I am proud of him.

I first heard about Dr. Campbell through my agency, SEEK Education. It wasn't until I applied for my master's at CSULA, where I actually got to meet Dr. Campbell and get to know him. He was such a sweet man and a lot of my classmates and I would see him as the ABA program grandfather. He was so patient with us and did his best to make sure we understood the concepts and asked us thought provoking questions. I remember him not being tech savvy, but decided to do all the fieldwork stuff through the computer. I was told he needed a task analysis to get through using the technology. He would also need some assistance when we were using Zoom for lectures during the pandemic. My classmates and I would collectively find it so precious that he was trying his best to lecture us even with such a barrier in his way. It's such an ordinary memory to have of Dr. Campbell, but it's one that I hold dear because it's those small and mundane moments that make life interesting. His work and teachings will live on through us all and I hope he is now peacefully resting.
