I first met Terry in August 2019, with me being brand new to the RNLI and Terry being one of the first colleagues to get in touch and introduce himself. We bonded immediately over our similar circumstances managing and supporting a landlocked area as part of our role and Terry was the friendliest, warmest welcome I could have possibly received. I always loved our catch-ups, putting the world to rights and just being great support for one another. Terry helped me through the tough times and always had 5-10 minutes to listen, offer advice or point me in the right direction. Any time I think of Terry I always have the biggest smile on my face and I hope he knew how much his selfless, empathetic and friendly personality brightened the day of others. Thank you for everything my friend.

I first met Terry when I was working as DOM in the East of England. Some great conversations over many different catch ups resulted. Our first meeting was at Sheringham Lifeboat Station when Selina Taylor brought her fundraising team to the station to meet with Chris Nisbet and myself. I walked in to the station to be confronted by Terry with his cheek against the hull of the Atlantic stroking the sponson. " This is such a privilege to be able to touch what we fundraise for" he said...." I have wanted to do this for ages..." It showed me just how much this organisation meant to him, its something I will never forget !! Nor will I ever forget Terry. Rest easy my friend....your watch is done.

I have known Terry for a number of years. He was one of the easiest people to chat to, always positive and hopeful. We always seemed to have a laugh even when discussing some difficult topics. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

We always joked that Terry was my "work dad". From the moment he reached out to me on my very first day at the RNLI, I knew I had gained an amazing friend. I will always be grateful for Terry being there as a shoulder to cry on, someone that was always happy to listen, offer kind words and advice and of course have a joke or a song on hand to make you smile. I cannot finish this without saying, I'm sorry for always mentioning the Lifeboat Stations in my patch, after all those years of being Terry "no Lifeboat Stations" James, you finally got some!!!
