So every shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Thomas, our nephew, far too young to have been taken. My sincere condolences to Mingh and Rio but the most lovely thing about this awful happening is that Thomas lived to know and love his son in a loving relationship. He was the loveliest wee boy, quiet and kind. I've only met him once since moving to New Zealand 47 years ago. It was at our mothers funeral, his Granny Ward, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, 30 years ago. He'd arrived from England with a Mohawk hair style, the only one at the funeral to bring a bit of style to the Occassion (his Granny would have chuckled at the sight). Belfast was very conservative at the time - wee rebels come in many forms, for Thomas it was his individualism and him still so young! His Aunt Veronica in Belfast, is so shocked at his passing she asked me to convey to Minh her thoughts and prayers are with her and Rio. So lovely to read so many beautiful comments from his friends all over the world and how he'd fulfilled his dream to retire at 50 and enjoy his family life. God bless, Aunt Mary, Uncle Bryan and Aunt Veronica
