I hadn't seen Rupert in years, like 15. Mainly because i moved from the area. I owe it to him to write this. The guy was a legend, we had so many laughs. Brutal, hilarious, highly intelligent, and insanely sarcastic. He was one of the very few people that could see straight through my defensive persona back then, he took time to understand you and if he felt you worthy would invite you beneath his prickly, at times, exterior shell. We spent literally hours talking about anything from the meaning of life, down too psychology, i even remember teaching him about neuro linguistic programming and sales techniques once.... yeah weird! I have fond memories of hanging out with him amongst other at the Dungeon, being invited back to his, once after i had gotten my head kicked in and I'm sure he just took pity on me. It was weird because i suppose when you looked in from the outside, you wouldn't have thought we would get on. We were so different. Rupert was an intellectual with who wouldn't hurt a fly, I was a bit bit of a lose cannon who got into fights. But we did, we got on quite well i thought. Here's to you Rupert! See you on the other side... Big Love Rick

Apologies for late post but myself and two friends only discovered the sad news about Rupert yesterday. Along with Rupert we all started at Southampton Uni in 1992. This is Rupert at our student digs in 1992 at Montefiore halls of residence. I hadn’t seen or spoke to Rupert since approximately 1996/1997 but it was very sad to hear this news yesterday. I remember Rupert as a clever, interesting and funny man. I have great memories of fun nights at The Hobbit, The Mitre, The Dungeon, The Dorchester, Jesters and many other pubs and clubs. I just wanted to post a couple of pictures on here of happy times. God bless Rupert.
