Tribute to Elder Richard Morka 2020-09-08 21:49:05 schreef:

On behalf of my wife and all of the Oleghe family, I send our deepest condolences to the Morka family on the sad passing of their father and grandfather, Elder Richard Andrew Morka. My wife and I first met Elder Morka on Sunday, June 13, 2010, when we visited his Ikotun, Lagos, home. His daughter, Efewongbe, had been in a relationship with our son, Ifijen, and we had obtained their approval to pay a courtesy call on her father. That first meeting was close to two hours and was noteworthy for our unspoken and undeclared intentions, but with a promise to call again. As the cliché goes, the rest is the history of Efewongbe and Ifijen being now happily married. That first meeting left us with an enduring memory of one with a deep and unquestioning religious faith that fortified him to face life’s challenges. To him, there was no human problem that could not be resolved with prayers. He was also not one given to worldly and material acquisitions. Elder Morka had an acute sense of humour. He would often drop jokes, crisp and deadpan, that, on reflection, are truly profound. In conversations, one must be alert because you never know when he would throw one of those jokes at you. The Lord has taken him away from us and we pray that he finds eternal rest in God’s sanctuary. - Emmanuel Aigbiniode Oleghe
