Nick Barlow

23 februari 1958 - 14 mei 2023

Nick died suddenly on the 14th May having just achieved a personal best for his half marathon time. He lived his best life, always busy either with sport activities such as sailing, running, and cycling or working on building cars and bikes as well as consistently helping others. He always had a huge smile and was able to always find the upside in any situation. He will be missed by all who have known him and was a rock and supportive friend, husband to Teresa, son to Barbara and David, dad to Oliver and his wife Justyna, and, granddad to Emilia and Billy. and even though he has been taken too early his enthusiasm for life will be remembered forever.

We cant believe he has gone. Where to start - the battles we had with Nick back in JOG on Xploiter when we sailed under him eating lasagne. We had a great beer in St Vaast over that. On the theme of St Vaast, We had a very foggy finish one morning and bumped into Peter and Sandie on route to the pub once we finished. A few hours later, there was a cheese and wine party on Red Zep and the whole JOG fleet were being entertained by Nick. Nick was a generous man and charming to be racing with where he was very patient with all of us. He lived respected and died regretted. Per Ardua Ad Astra Nick.
