Our darling, Mike left us this past weekend, and with us he left a legacy of life, love, laughter, and music. We thank you all for joining via zoom. We wish that you could all be here, but I understand he was loved all over the world so with that please feel free to leave a loving and lasting message.

    I wrote this on the 14/02/23 but I’d like to put it here as well. I hope that’s ok… We met on Valentine’s Day 11 years ago. We always joked that it would make us either really love or really hate Valentine’s Day, depending on how we worked out. I can unequivocally say this is the saddest one. I gave him a paper flower that night and he gave me love in a really difficult time of my life. I’ve been reading our first ever messages. So silly and funny and full of deep thoughts because we were trying to show each other who we were in such a short period of time. We constantly spoke about kismet and serendipity because we had so many random connections - considering I was from the Hills and he from the North Shore, 15 years apart (sorry Bunny), we both thought surely this is it? It wasn’t and that was ok. I’ve since realised that Michael came into my life to set me on a path with a person I would never have met without him, that has resulted in the most beautiful, joy-filled baby girl who we love just so much. I don’t say this to make this about me, but Michael was all about gratitude and I need to express how grateful I am for our time together and for him, as a person. I have a feeling he would know and he’d be so happy, a bit sad and a tiny bit jealous, as I was always for him. He was so full of love, music and joy. He was made to inspire people. I wrote a story for him for his 41st birthday and asked one of his best friends to illustrate it and I’d like to share it here. I hope Matt won’t mind. These are the words of a young girl in love and I see so many edits I’d like to make but I want to put it here in it’s original form. I’m at a loss. The world is a little less bright without you, MM. To his family, and especially Bim, I’m so so sorry he’s been taken away. You are all the most beautiful people and deserve the world. I loved being a part of his for even a short while.     I have been hooked on your music, love and light since the moment we met. No weekend was complete without a trip to Epoque to see you and Lucas play. Later - no trip to Sydney was complete without hearing you both sing and play. You were and are larger than life. Our wedding was not complete without you there, and without your music bringing our day to life. No words can express how heartbroken we all are that you are no longer earth side. I will treasure your music and the memories forever. The world feels upside down; we will all take a while to get back on our feet. We miss you, we love you.
