Kye Andreopoulos

22 mei 1992 - 29 december 2020

Throughout his life Kye followed the beat of his own drum. He was kind hearted, very caring, giving and grounded. He followed his ideas passionately, he was smart and never afraid to try new things. He was loyal, extremely close and supportive to his mother. He will be missed by many and loved forever.

Kye’s spirit is free ...what a loss to us! We met Kye just this past spring during a particularly difficult time in his life when every aspect of his life was being challenged. Christine and Kye shared our living space in Stratford while he received medical care. Even when very ill, Kye was clearly very proud and kind to those around him. His life had changed in so many respects and yet he was able to be considerate of those around him and to seek joy in small things. We loved the fact that for a brief time every day, Kye would play some favourite music and sing like no one was listening. We were. Few of us can allow this for ourselves . Kye’s illness was frightening to him and perhaps to others who knew of him before it began. Even in the height of his illness his humanity shone through. People with mental health problems are often alone. Family fails to understand and friends shy away because the change is so great in the acute phases. Kye was so fortunate to have had his mother in this period of his life. Christine worked tirelessly with Kye to bring him back to health while accepting the inevitability of some remaining change. She was a true optimist motivated by unrelenting love for her son. We have so much respect for this woman. The world has lost a good man. Please accept our condolences on this terrible loss.

Thank you so much for these kind words. I knew that you knew how good he was and I am so glad we got to spend some of his last months with you. He fell in love also with Stratford. He will be so missed. Thanks
