Memories of John:
Marinating a whole salmon in the bath at Avenue Road to make gravadlax.
Keeping huge bars of catering white chocolate in the garage and using a hammer and chisel to break chunks off in the dead of night
Sailing to IOM from Liverpool in John’s boat and when we arrived all we had to eat was a large smoked salmon John had brought along. We bought bags of chips from the chippy, cut the salmon into chunks (we had no knife to slice it) and that was our supper.
But of course number one would be the infamous trip to Le Mans 24hr. The sight of John & Don driving in front of us in their red Ferrari Barchetta wearing white leather helmets. Just too much to take in and never to be repeated I’m pleased to say!
