Jim was such a lovely man. He had a great sense of humour and I think that was the thing that particularly chimed with me. That sort of cynical world-weary banter always accompanied with a wry smile. Observations that draw you in as you collectively lament your lot in life whilst knuckling down and and getting on with the task in hand. We must have shared a lot of those conversations during the time I spent in Glasgow. I think it was the combination of his particular outlook on life as well as his talent and experience that made working alongside Jim a real pleasure.
His loss will be deeply felt by so many people. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
