From Imo’s brother in law, Terry: I have known my lovely special sister in law for 43 years, SO long that really she is, for me, simply my sister. Imo has been a part of my life and my mind for so long I forget life without her. Imo has always been 'full on', such fun, sharp, intelligently opinionated, and always with a core of deep integrity and love. The deepest love for her constant Dave, love for her work, and it should be said, a fierce love of the integrity that lies at the very heart of the NHS and the delivery of health care for the people of the country she so fiercely cared for. For those of us old enough to recall the depth of commitment to the fair equitable and best-possible delivery of health care to England that grew out of the idealism seen at the end of the Second World War, that set of values lived in Imo every day. Whenever I talked about her work and the NHS to Imo, the depth of love and commitment she felt to those high ideals was ever present. The NHS could never have achieved what it did without people like Imo. I love her for her soul, her sparkle, her intellect, her depth of quite selfless care and love, and for always standing to defend the system of healthcare she so admired and worked within. As with her husband Dave, it was always people that were her main focus. Imo was such a fun woman, always surprising and uncluttered with any sort of cant. Refreshing to know, but tough at times as well. Not a bad thing. Not for me anyway. From now until the ending of my life I will think on her, love her, keep remembering, be so grateful I knew her, and miss her so very much. Finally, sisters being sisters, whenever my dear Fina says anything at all, there is a bit of Imo in her voice, her mannerisms, that always makes me pause and love them both quite beyond words. Thank you Imo. God keep your precious soul.
