Grace Pauline MacLellan

21 april 1952 - 31 december 2020

MacLellan, Grace Pauline With sadness we announce that Pauline MacLellan, 68, passed away in the Halifax Infirmary, QE II site, on December 31. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Lillian (MacIsaac) MacLellan. Pauline is survived by sisters Janet Schadlosky, Edmonton; Frances Carmichael (Alex), Elderbank; Joan Crawford, Kingston; Roseanne Rice, Halifax; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by four sisters Bernadette, Mary Christena, Anne, and Mary Delores (in infancy), as well as brothers-in-law Phil Schadlosky and Brian Crawford. Pauline attended Saint Stephen’s School and Saint Patrick’s High School. She graduated from Saint Mary’s University and Mount Saint Vincent University, and taught in the English Department at Prince Andrew High School until her retirement. Pauline was gifted with many talents. She was very musical, a gifted writer, artistic, and a wonderful cook. She possessed a great sense of humour which she shared until the end. The family thanks all staff on 8.2, along with supporting hospital departments, for their wonderful care. We thank the workers from Northwood Homecare, Always Home Homecare, and the EHS paramedics who assisted Pauline. We extend our most sincere appreciation to Dr. Judith McNeil who was Pauline’s family doctor for many years. Dr McNeil went above and beyond in caring for Pauline. To honour Pauline’s wishes, there will be no service. Donations in Pauline’s memory may be made to the SPCA Dartmouth. Online condolences may be made on this memorial page.

Janet, Frances, Joan, and Roseanne, Condolences from your neighbor up the street—Pauline is in my thoughts and you in my prayers. I’m remembering one particular time when a few of you, Pauline included, took me off my parents’ hands for a bit of distraction—A&W treats were involved. Our parents had such fierce bonds amongst each other, which come to mind easily when I learn that one of our generation is called home. I imagine that Pauline is in warm embraces on the other shore. A lot of catching up to do. Beannachd leibh (Bridget said that was a way to say goodbye with blessings.) Ray
