Dear Don & Family,
You will be greatly missed by all of us. As a newer add to the leadership team I always appreciated how you spent time making sure I had all the resources I needed. I have so many fond memories of Don but my favorite is a time when he was introducing me to the senior leaders at American Airlines. I was looking at the menu and saw an appetizer that I really wanted. It was "clothesline bacon". The dish consisted of 3 slices of thick cut American cured bacon grilled & then finished with brown sugar. I did not want to order it as I thought it would look silly in front of the customer but when the apps arrived he had gotten it. I was so excited by that one gesture. I looked up and saw his classic smile!
Don was the master of relationships & knowing the human spirit and how to treat people. I will miss our candid talks, spirited discussions, and hearing updates on the family + his new home.
