I am sorry to hear that David Parker has passed away, and I present my condolences to his family. Death is always a tragedy.
David is part of my life since I spent seven years at the University of Essex, affiliated to the Department of Physics as an undergraduate, then as a graduate student during 1968-1972, supported by the university Poulter Fellowship to do my PhD in Theoretical Physics.
When I grew up to be a university Professor he was always cordial and welcoming when we met on the rare occasions. He did not forget my Essex background, and recommended me to colleagues whenever he met them in international conferences. It was very touching to hear that.
