It is hard to believe that Captain Valeri is not with us and I will not meet him again onboard a Euronv ship. I met him for the first time some years ago onboard and I remember him as a calm, polite, and very cooperative person, knowledgeable of his ship and eager to share his knowledge. This first impression was only reinforced all the times we met since then. Last November I discussed with him at the briefing meeting before joining his last ship. He was happy that he would go onboard again and as always ready to offer his good services to the ship and the crew. I was very sad to hear the news of his sudden death. I will always keep in my memory his smile and polite manners as well as the commitment and dedication to his job and the company.
