Andy Isley

17 december 1969 - 6 mei 2021

Charles Andrew “Andy” Isley, 51, of Stanfield, NC passed away at his home on Thursday, May 6, 2021. He loved being with his family and friends, woodworking, hunting, and spending time on his farm, where he raised cows and goats. He enjoyed giving back to his community and supporting the local 4-H club and the Boy Scouts. Andy was very passionate about his family, his farm and his work at Microsoft. Andy was a long time member of the Microsoft family, and a core part of our MCS fraternity. He joined us 7 years ago and became a key leader, mentor and friend for a lot of us. He had a passion for learning and giving back to the community, whether it was related to technology or farming or other interests. He is recognized as a key leader in his space at Microsoft. He leaves all enriched for his deeds, achievements and relationships forged. The foundation he leaves behind will allow us to carry forward his work. RIP Andy

Andy was a great friend and colleague – able to explain complex concepts in a clear and easy way that always made the other person feel as smart as he was. Andy was also a great friend to talk about work challenges and problem solving together. I will miss our phone chats and seeing him on trips. I also will never forget about the custom goat scale he built using a Raspberry Pi and am still amazed by that today. My sincere condolences to Andy’s friends and family.
