Ajeet Kumar was a very smart, intellectual, caring and an absolute gem of a person. He was everything from a husband, to a friend, to a father for his wife, Rinku Singh Kumar. He has a beautiful daughter, Ira Kumar, who would not leave her Mumma & Papa for a second. Ajeet was also very close to his parents and his brother, Ranjeet Kumar. Ajeet has touched the heart of every friend or colleague with his joyful & loving nature. He had been a great leader, player, mentor, advisor to many of us. He loved watching war movies, play cricket, cooking food to list a few. "No longer by our side, forever in our hearts"

Ajeet was a fantastic person to interact with and raised the energy of the room wherever he went. It was simply a delight to have conversations with him on work, life and everything in between. Having worked with him on a challenging assignment, he was never bogged down by the difficult situation and always found a way out for his team! Ajeet truly exemplified the saying "When the going gets tough, The tough get going"! Thoughts and Prayers to the family and may the Almighty give them all the strength!

I am absolutely shattered after hearing about untimely demise of Ajeet. We worked together at cognizant and he was not only a wonderful colleague but also a wonderful friend. Like everyone said he was always smiling no matter what. I have very fond memories of the time we spent together. I pray to god to give strength to his family and friends to bear this loss. May your soul Rest In Peace brother.

Respect, Dependability, Helpful, hard work.. These are the words by which I always remember Ajeet. Even-though my professional connect with Ajeet was limited but I cherished the personal bond shared with him. I met him during one of my project in cognizant and in spite of he just joined the organization 3 days back, he took up most challenging task to develop . He was one of those individuals who always lend a helping hand to anyone who is in need without asking for anything in return. Dear Ira,Rinku, Ajeet was a great friend, Father, Son, Husband and I want you to feel proud of him whenever you remember him. Dear Ira, One day you will grow up to to understand the loss you had to endure at such a young age and may even read these notes to understand your father through our memories. Let me assure you, he lived his life whole heartedly, touched so many of us in ways we cannot even express in words. I got to know him in the winter of 2012-13. Both of us were going to work together for a new assignment and here I was with little knowledge of the business whom I was suppose to help to resolve their problems. AJ was like the Hanuman or if you are into James Bond movies then like Q. He had solutions for all problems. I told him I am bit rusty on a technology and he got me the training, I told him I new to Europe Visa process and he took over the job of tracking. He always wore his emotions on his sleeve and I would know it's a time for us to address the elephant in the room. He followed me from one account to other for 2 more assignments and helped both of us to grow. During one such assignment your parents got married and I was the reason they continued to live in separate towns. How I wish I knew and probably I could have done better for both of them create more everlasting memories than what Rinku already has. Like every profession, managers in our line also experimented and AJ would be my Dr.Watson. He would question, show displeasure but once he was committed he would take every step to make it a success for both of us. Lot of times I asked him to do difficult stuff like curbing his anger, working with colleagues, managers whose working style he did not prefer. Preach his superiors to follow certain vision and every time he came good. Once we shot some videos with our team and only both of us what we are trying to achieve. He ensured we got we wanted in the end without me going to a single recording and anyone else knowing what we were after. He enjoyed his tea, occasional drink & partying with friends. The streets of Mumbai, Pune & Stockholm will tell you some of his stories. All through our combined journey of 4 years he always tried to help his friends, colleagues. Be it Narendra & Gaurav who were his room partners and he would always ask me to help them out when they were in need. Be it Chetan, Apurva who worked with him Jio. He would keep pushing me to address their aspirations. Be it Rohit, Prashant and several other in Tele2, he would always be asking something for each one of them. Never for himself. Infact once I had to take something from him and give it to someone else and he was ever smiling. We lost bit of touch in last few years and it was on the same fateful day I was telling someone how a perfect team member should be on other corner of the world when he left us. Personally to me he taught so many things. Your parents introduced me to OTT or Web Series if you guys still have them. Apart from my mother, he was the one who taught me how to support other's dreams and become a perfect partner. He was always there when I needed him. Keep smiling and keep getting better. Do call me when you need and even if you don't, let's catch up some day to cherish his memory. AJ - that's what I called him - a name that our boss gave him and it stuck. Reading all the condolence notes and memories here - it is amazing how everyone who knew him, knew him as a calm, kind and patient person, someone always there to lend a hand. We worked together for a long time, swivelling on our chairs often to discuss things. An extremely dependable guy who everyone from his juniors, his batch mates to all the seniors right up to the department heads, would remember as unfailingly polite, patient and smart but tactful. We all respected him and enjoyed working with him - in fact fought fiercely to keep him in our team. As he shifted projects, we still stayed in touch and I’d like to think that the respect and affection continued. Be it any task - AJ was the go to guy - the one who’d say - “Ye mujh pe chhod do” (leave it to me). From technical issues to training new associates to making fun video clips for the team and finding just the right piece of music for it, AJ did it all with the same enthusiasm and detail. Even till his last day in Cognizant, he made new bonds, guided the new associates. He left behind shoes too big to fill. He was immensely proud of his lil daughter. His message after her birth saying “Sleepless nights, but all worth it” conveyed the warmth and pride across miles. It is inexplicable and downright unfair that he be taken away from all those he loved, so soon. Rinku, Ira - I have no words to express condolences to you. Praying for all the strength for you and know that you were loved immensely by this gentle, kind and intelligent soul.

This news brought me into a very big shock and I simply can't believe this has happened... We met 2 weeks ago and had made plans for meet up... He was one great mentor and friend whom I respected a lot... Ajeet was a big part of my career growth and I would never ever forget him for that.. He was a very caring, intellectual, proactive and awesome soul.... I wish a lot of strength and lot to all his friends and family members who are going through real tough time

It was an honour working with you Ajeet. As a junior member of your team, I was always welcome with questions and we could laugh about my mistakes. You always made time for people and had a great answer to anything. Although we knew eachother for less then a year and our relation was mainly professional, it was very clear to me that you are a guy with a very big and warm heart. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you Ajeet. Both on a professional level and on a personal level. As a professional you were seen as one of the experts in the field, always willing to help and coach someone (with success) and always open for a new perspective. But above all I enjoyed working with you because of who you were and how you treated people. You showed interest in others and shared your own stories always with great passion. It has been only a month ago that we also met physically again at the team metadata day, where you showed few of them. You brought delicious self-made Indian snacks, showed a movie which was about one of the fun traditions of your cricket team and made your first jumps on the trampoline. Looking back, I am thankful we were in the position to do this. It was a shock to hear about the sad news you passing away. I wish your family all the strength to deal with this tremendous loss. Thank you for all your contributions, as a colleague and as a person.

Dear Rinka, Ira and family. My heart goes out to you all. But especially to Ira. Ira, your daddy was so very proud of you. I worked with him and remember we were having a meeting and we heard you in the background. Ajeet immediately asked for you and took you in his lap. The look in his eyes was one of love, pride and happiness. He tried to make you look at us on the screen and wave to us. But you were too little. That is the memory of your kind, gentle and very smart dad I carry with me. A father who loves his daughter. A memory that is all I can give you. I will miss Ajeet. He was always there when we needed help. And to explain something for the 3th or 4th or 10th time if you needed it. I wish you all strength and love in the days to come, Claudia Watrin

All my memories with Ajeet are limited to cricket. Within a short span of time, Ajeet became a good friend of mine and almost everyone in the club. Ajeet was always calm, composed and had a smile on his face. Even when everyone was agitated and angry during a game, Ajeet kept his cool. This reflected on how simple, loving and cool he was. Ajeet was always willing to help anyone in need and would go an extra mile to help out. There are many memories with Ajeet but some of the best memories on and off the cricket field include : making fun of his peculiar bowling action, praising his agility in the cricket field, sharing and discussing simple things in life, making fun of people in our unique way, talking about cricket and many more... I still remember the KPL final when we were going to lose with a big margin but Ajeet maintained a pleasant smile on his face and I instantly forgot about the defeat.... It is hard to put all the memories with a beautiful person like Ajeet in writing but all those memories will live in my heart forever. Its a great loss not only to his family and friends but also the his cricket team members, co-workers and his extended family at Kampong. Nothing can ever fill the void he left in our hearts. Rest in peace brother.
