Incredible lady who did so much for our community and she was always on the look out for those who might fall through the gaps. Forever grateful for the supportive chats we had whilst shielding x
I was recently reminded of a canvassing session that Frances and I took part in in the pouring rain. Despite the weather Frances still came out to knock on doors and talk to residents which shows how dedicated she was to being a Councillor. She was not only hard working, organised and diligent she was also extremely caring and kind and was always willing to do so much for others. I will miss her a great deal but feel incredibly lucky to have known her and to not only call her a colleague but also a friend.
Frances was a friend, a colleague and a comrade. She was always available for a chat and she offered wisdom and good counsel. Relentlessly honest, Frances made me think again on several occasions, and that always led to better decision making. Frances was respected, admired and loved by so many. She will be sorely missed.
The day before she died, I sent Frances a text message to tell her how much we loved and valued her and to my surprise, knowing how very sick she was, she messaged me straight back with a single "X". I messaged her back and said it was the best texted ""X I had ever received (and it was) to which she sent back another "X". That was Frances... caring for others' wellbeing even when she was so terribly unwell herself. I feel lucky to have known her and will never forget the way she fought for a fair and just society and her ceaseless thoughtfulness for others. Rest in peace my friend and comrade. No one deserves it more. X

There's a beginning and there's an end. We don't have much choice in either but in between is ours. Most of the time we don't realise the effect we're having on others, and a wise man once said that "life is what happens when you're busy making other plans". All we can hope for is that we come out even in the end. Frances was a bit more than even and her spirit and determination to do the right thing will live on as far as the horizon will allow us to see and beyond. Here's to a life well-lived. And may the road rise in that way with us all. Cllr Jodi Dunne.
