Frances Mason

August 16, 1958 - December 5, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce that Frances Mason has passed away following a short illness. Frances was much loved and greatly respected in her professional and personal capacities. She was a formidable intellect, a campaigner for equality and fairness, and an unsurpassed hard worker. She had a great sense of humour; she was kind and her compassion shone through in everything she did. She was a much loved and respected Labour councillor for Toddbrook Ward and was recently appointed Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Governance, Equality and Diversity, a role that she took extremely seriously in championing the rights of others. Frances will be sorely missed by all those who knew her and loved her. Those who knew Frances felt themselves lucky to do so. Our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.

Incredible lady who did so much for our community and she was always on the look out for those who might fall through the gaps. Forever grateful for the supportive chats we had whilst shielding x
