Scott Wharton

July 18, 1971 - April 21, 2020

He was someone who always had a bounce in his step and a smile on his face. He put people first and gave so much time to help others. So many from his team would only speak positively of him, and will dearly miss him. For us all Scott, it was an absolute pleasure to have known you. Scott you will forever be known as the 'superb' man from Yorkshire.

What i would like to remember of Scott are the smiles and the laughs and the Gitanes when I had run out of smokes and he would spot me one. Thanks Scott for all the support you gave us in the agencies and making our working relationships that much smoother.

I will never forget you. Your support, your kindness, your Yorkshire accent and your booming voice, your dry sense of humour and the fact that you were always there for me when I needed it. You reassured me when I needed it and pushed me when I needed it. I miss you with all my heart my friend. Sleep well Big Boss. xxx Maggie

Having had the great pleasure of knowing Scott for almost 14 years (7 when I reported to him in our previous company), I was chuffed to see him join the Amazon Family and wondered if both knew what they were letting themselves in for!! Scott brought a calm and at times challenging approach to the tasks in hand and always managed to find 1 point you had missed regardless of how much prep was done. Whilst the sessions with Scott were at times fleeting, the support was always there. As I moved roles, so did Scott! We often joked that he would be my stalker for eternity. I genuinely believe I am the person I am within the work environment thanks to Scott's tutelage over the years, and I will be for ever grateful. Rest well big man. (Shame about the choice of rugby)

An absolute legend, a true gentleman and an inspirational leader. Scott's charisma, straight forwardness, and work ethic stood out the most to me. He treated everyone with respect and all of us learned a lot working for Scott. It was truly devastating news. It actually took a long while for some of us to digest the sadness and the emotion. All the good memories at LTN1...... Take care Big Boss

I'll never forget Black Friday 2018 when unions were protesting outside LTN1 and we invited media in off the cuff. We hadn't warned Scott that he may need to do an interview but he immediately took up the challenge, rose from his chair and walked straight onto the floor to deliver a word perfect interview for Al Jazeera TV. Unflappable and the ultimate professional, and sorely missed. James

Really grateful for the memories in our LTN Node and the care he put into leading his teams. Still the most passionate five-a-side coach out there!

Scott, you were an absolute inspirational leader and thank you for all support and coaching you gave me. Great mentor, the only person who liked the white papers to be printed and left on his desk for reading, you always said “old style” about it. Truly the phrase “Superb, Bart you are a gentleman” I will be missing the most. Thank you for all the time and It was a pleasure to work under your command.

During your first peak in Amazon, we were led to bread multiple records for Traditional sortable building - which have never been overtaken! You were the best mentor and leader for many of us in many ways. We will never forget your 1-1s and your inspirational leadership. You are truly missed... Rest in Peace Best Boss Ever!

You were one of the most inspirational leaders in Amazon. Your charismatic personality left a huge impact, and you had a unique ability to get stuff done, even if it was moving mountains. LTN1 in 2018 was one of my best years to cherish one key reason for it was you. Truly a pleasure to have known you in life. I am terribly sorry to hear that you're gone too soon. Take care Big Boss, you are a gentleman!

Never one to be outdone, when a group of managers and associates from BHX1 decided to shave their heads for charity you jumped right in! Not only did you show incredible humility and good form during the 'ordeal' you also made sure that thanking the others for taking part was top of your agenda. You will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. x
