Remembering the 'Cup Giving' days. Miss Faulkner and Miss Percy together. Miss Faulkner was an inspiration to so many of us who attended Bush Davies in Romford and then at Faulkner Hembrey with Miss Jill. I have so many wonderful memories of the classes even those when it went wrong - and you knew when you were wrong - for sure! I had so many opportunities while training with her, ones I fondly look back on and appreciate everything she did to get me to where I am today. In 1992 Miss Faulkner examined me at my school for my RAD teaching certificate, we had a laugh at how my teaching was a reflection on her. Even now I refer back to my classes with Miss F when teaching my pupils. She will live on in all of us. A great lady, inspirational teacher and loved by us all. Much love Miss Faulkner and Rest In Peace. xx
I have such happy memories of firstly being taught and then working with Miss Faulkner. It only seems like yesterday that I was standing at the barre struggling with my Grand Rond de Jambe! She was an incredible teacher who was able to get the best out of everyone. Always there to encourage and support, she was a huge part of my life. She inspired a whole generation and instilled a love of dance that is still with me today. Looking back through my photo albums brought back a mixture of happiness, nostalgia and great sadness that Miss Faulkner is no longer here to share those happy moments. I can’t believe that she has gone but she leaves behind a lasting legacy and her memory will live on with every single lesson that I take. ❤️ Helen Green
Here is a lovely tribute from Debbie Millar - It was so very sad to hear of the passing of Laura, Miss Falkner to us, while at Bush Davies Romford. I still want to stand correctly every time we hear her name and I remember her concept of discipline. She was such an inspiration to us all and I have many memories over the years as well as when she and Miss Jill lived on the first floor of the house we lived in in North Street. Much Love and Rest in Peace with the Angels xx Debbie Bartram as was ❤️.
Show memories at the hall in Romford. Miss Faulkner was old school, fabulous work ethic and discipline & instilled wonderful technique in her dancers. I’m so very sad to hear she has passed. I certainly would not have gone on to train full time, dance or have my own school without her. She will be remembered so fondly x
So very sad to hear that this lovely lady and amazing teacher has passed away. The technique, work ethic and discipline she taught me has stayed with me and I now pass on to my pupils. May she rest in peace x
One of my last RAD ballet exams I took with Miss Faulkner, to this day her instructions and counts still enter my head as I teach my own students, A legacy of Classical ballet truly passed on. Thank you for all your teaching Miss Faulkner xxx
Laura was such an inspiring teacher to work for. She new how to get the best out of every single pupil! She loved to encourage the pupils to create their own dances and was very musical. I’ve recorded one of the pieces from the book Laura loved. Much Love to you all xxx
