You were a true friend, you offered support when I didn’t know where to turn, you made me laugh when I needed to, we grew together at work. So so many memories. You heard of a new toner at a catwalk show so we tried it out on your hair, it went green!!! Thank god for gentle cleanse.
I knew Dennis at a young age I got to know him more each time. We ended up being really good friends after I told him that I love him and handed my roses at him I'll always rerember that day he said no one has ever done that for me. Dennis was always lovely to me I knew straight away that he was just special I'm so grateful I got to know him for all the years I have own him. I was just 6 years old when I meet him and I'm 37 years old this year I'll never change anything your smile Dennis made me feel so happy I'll definitely miss our chats and laughs and also bumping into you in town and making sure I got home ok you are a true good best friend I could ever ask for I was the lucky one to have you as a friend I can't believe you are not with us anymore you was taken far too soon. Just over twenty years ago I walked into Francesco Lichfield to get my hair done. I was introduced to the most talented, kind hearted, genuine, down to earth, crazy guy who quickly became a very good friend. Over the years we shared our secrets, memories, dreams and troubles. We had so many laughs, I will never forget “moving day” just one or two boxes you said.....then we all stood staring a this huge wooden piano. We all nearly wet ourselves with laughter trying to get it out the front door. I am so thankful I walked into Francesco that day, I am thankful it was you who coloured my “landing strip” as you called it, I am thankful for our chats and putting the world to rights and sharing memories. I am thankful for being part of your life. I would say Rest In Peace but that’s not you, go shine and have fun my friend. Love always, Mandy xx
Almost a week since I received the sad news about Den, and I still can’t quite believe it. Such a kind, gentle soul. We shared (with Alice) a love of all things Strictly ... verging on the obsessive! I’m sure that there will now be a little more sparkle in the night sky. God Bless Dennis
I always remember a story that Dennis always recalled whenever we met; sober or not so! Apparently during a SPACE scheme trip I "saved his life from a bumble-wasp!" Was weird to me that about 15 years later I met him and his bro again when I got to know Esther... Small world the 'wood. I will miss his funny sense of humour and his bitchiness which had me in stitches. So sad, I hadn't seen him for a while
I have many memories but the one that has always stuck in my head was about 20 years ago I went ti a little shindig at his house & he played the piano for me with his Grade 8 classically trained fingers working in ways that I admired. He then asked me to play so I played an ABBA medley followed by some Simon & Garthunkle & a Bob Marley medley. Dennis was shocked at the way my fingers moved in such a different way but equally as impressive to him & insisted that I was the better player I disagreed & in the end we agreed that we were as good as each other we just played very different music xXx He was an amazing soul & will be sadly missed, Heaven has truly gained a very special angel xXx

We first got to know Dennis over 30 years ago when you joined the BB with William. They were a lively pair, maybe a little mischievous, but quite a few were like them. They were caring, polite, enjoyed having fun with all the activities that there were on offer. Even after they both left the Brigades, whenever you would see them about, they would always say hello or are you ok. Dennis I (Karen) am sorry I wasn't able to be at your funeral to celebrate your life, but I have been fortunate enough to listen to a recording of your funeral and not even a dry eye whilst listening to the lovely reflections of your life from a large array of all your family and friends. One of your songs that was played "He aint heavy, he's my brother", made me smile, because I always thought (and it is a standing joke in my family)! "He's in heaven, he's my brother", so that is true for you - so I sang the song crying and listening by changing the words to He's in heaven, he's my brother. So true and apt for you Dennis. I admire you Dennis for letting everyone know who you were and what an amazing person you were. I will never forget you Dennis, but will always remember you as a pair - Dennis and William. We can all look up to the sky above and see the brightest, sparkly and glowing star and know that is you looking down upon us and shining a bright light for us all to see you. We will miss you fondly Dennis, have fun with all your laughter, jokes and of course music and dancing up in heaven, have an amazing time. RIP Dennis.
