Chris Parker

July 28, 1975 - June 17, 2023

Chris was a great friend, highly respected across our sector, and just one of the good people. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father to his three children.

Chris what a character, I joined Cambs back in 1998 and went to blue watch Cambridge with Chris and Tim. I remember the jokes we played all day, the best one was the radio hidden in the drains outside the fire station, Tim would speak to the students walking by from the drains it was so funny watching them, they couldn’t work out where the voice was coming from, then Chris dressed up as a homeless person walked by and off Tim went on his talking, then Chris opens the drain cover picks up the radio looking at it weirdly then runs off to Parker’s peace, swiftly being chased by Tim from the fire station, and we’re all laughing so much as we all knew what was happening, the good old days, a great fireman, both of them and both taken far too soon. Chris just a great character to be around and will be sadly missed by all

Saddened and shocked to hear such terrible news. I had only just started to get to know Chris and it was only a few weeks ago we met for the first time in person. Chris had kindly offered to sponsor me in my quest to start a Men's Forum and raise Mental Health Awareness within the service. It was clear that Chris shared this subject close to his heart and was equally as passionate as myself. I felt very privileged and honoured that Chris had come forward to support and join me on my journey, the inspiration Chris has provided will help me continue and move forward. My thoughts and heartfelt condolences go to his close friends and family.

Condolences to his family, friends and the fire community that he served. Chris was an amazing firefighter, and an even better person. Always smiling with an ability to communicate accross the divides. He always made time for you and had the ability to be caring and funny all at once, much respect. Stand down and RIP Chris.
