Sandi Browne

July 1, 1967 - September 23, 2022

Sandi worked at Deloitte for over 15 years, starting first with the Canadian ERS practice, before moving into what was then Global ERS Learning, which in turn became Global RA People & Purpose. She was a deeply passionate person, whose true purpose in life was to have and create impact wherever she went. She specifically loved working in DE&I, learning & development and even had her own wellbeing practice outside of Deloitte as a Wellbeing Coach, Reiki Master, and Heart Centred Facilitator. Sandi was a proud Pioneer and thrived when collaborating with others and had this incredible ability to empower those around her. We think though that Sandi’s legacy can be best said in her own words: “My purpose is to grow trust and connections at all levels so that individuals, teams, organizations, and communities are aware of and are maximizing their potential, impact, results and, ultimately, happiness. When we are being, doing, and pursuing what we love, we naturally create happiness, wellbeing and unity! Let's co-create today :-)”

I have know Sandi for about 13 years and she was my counselor for about 12 years. She had this uncanny ability to remember the names of pretty much everyone she met… ultimately, I think it was because she just loved and cared about people. It was funny how our weekly team calls just about always went over by 20 or 30 minutes, because she just wanted to make sure that everyone was heard, not just from a work standpoint, but also from a personal standpoint. She knew everyone on the team exceptionally well and always knew what was going on in everyone’s lives. Every call with her included, “how was the run”… “how is Katiana feeling”… “how was your trip”… “how are you feeling about the meeting coming up”. She really listened and cared about the lives of the team members, probably more than any other colleague I have ever met. She more than once referred to herself as the mother bear of the team and would do just about anything to make sure we felt safe, secure, happy, heard, and successful. Sandi showed up to work every day as her authentic self: if she was having a bad day, she would tell you, if she was having a great day, she would tell you, if she needed help, she would tell you. I hope to live my life more in the style of Sandi: care more, share more, and be there for others more. Sandi was an inspiration to so many people at Deloitte and she will always be remembered.

Sharing my best experiences with Sandi. When she got to know i love snow but had never witnessed it in real, she always used to switch on her camera go out and show the snow to me:) It was such a beautiful gesture. I will cherish these small beautiful moments forever. When i was very new to the team and wanted to talk she was there for me and we used to talk for hours about spirituality, essential oils, and what not..... Thanks for being the best coach

Here is a photo of Sandi delivering a welcome session to participants of Leader of the Future, a program designed by her to help empower female professionals to become intelligent heart centered leaders. This was a topic she was extremely passionate about, and you can see in her face how excited she was to share her learnings with her team. Such an open and welcoming soul, and an outstanding facilitator/teacher. Thank you Sandi for your guidance and encouragement to so many people!

Sandy was one of my favorite 'stakeholder' who rarely gave the impression of being a stakeholder....simply because she had a very human demeanor - I saw her laugh, get angry, emotional etc. which made me feel that here is someone who does not shy away from being herself!! She deeply cared about people and wanted to ensure we're collectively successful not only as a business but also as a team. Her legendary Mon team meetings were fun...in one of my first sessions she asked us two things that we were grateful for - that was such an amazing thing to do. There were several such instances where she had a lot of different but pleasantly surprising conversations which would really make us feel special. I even once told her about this Reiki training I took earlier when I was a teenager and learnt that she too was a trained reiki practitioner! Wow!! I could really be honest and transparent with her without the fear of being judged. She was and will always remain an amazing human being for me...for the rest of my life.

Sharing something which Sandi might even not know! For any calls scheduled with Sandi, I always ensured I had nothing else lined up on my calendar at least until for the subsequent 30-60 minutes. Calls with Sandi would invariably and always run over :D.

If there is one word to describe Sandi - LIFESAVER!! I owe my entire career at Deloitte to Sandi. She constantly helped me progress to the next level. She kept saying , "I see a lot of me in you Abinaya." Those were highly motivating. She was my constant and a family. I will miss you Sandi. You were too good to be gone.

Sandi was always the most impeccably dressed colleague on virtual calls..while we could barely drag ourselves out of our sweatshirts and tees...Sandi would turn up looking like a goddess..here is a snap from a regular weekly team call..Is'nt she glowing?!

Sending sincere condolences to Sandi's family and friends. I was working with Sandi on my current project and was always impressed by her energy and thoughtfulness as she provided us with guidance. She often brought up really helpful additional information that we hadn't thought of and that was important for our goals in the project. Sandi would also tell us about upcoming events for Women in Cyber and was very passionate for this critical initiative. My deepest condolences for the loss of Sandi.
