The song has ended but the melody lingers on- Irving Berlin. We keep the memories of our loved ones alive, and carry them in our hearts. Julian was an amazing person, who defied the odds and lived life on his own terms. There are so many wonderful memories, photos and hilarious stories that have been shared with us and has been extremely appreciated. We will all miss him so much.

... "beep ba da boop bap" sang Julian. My uncle use to be extremely particular about the way he use to look. Ironing his pants till every last crease was removed. He was a classic man, the type who would carry a handkerchief in his pocket, owned a shoe horn to put on his shiny pair of shoes. Part of this routine would be singing his favourite songs in the morning as he prepared for school. Unbeknown to Julian his expertise in singing would reach far beyond the flat wall, all the way outside; to the children passing by on their way to school. Julian use to walk to school and one day a child shouted out " Hey sir! that was a lekker liedjie, THE SINGING TEACHER" -Racine (Niece)
Jazz and Johnny walker.... Christmas time was his favourite time of year. We were living in westbury at the time. After all the excitement of wrapping presents and going to Cresta for last minute shopping. The evening would slowly come to a rest, but not for Julian. The little flat we lived in felt full of joy and was overgrown with the love of friends and family. I remember my uncle and mom would invite all their friends over, it would lead to drinks, that time old Johnny walker would come walking out the closet... and my uncle would start to play his favourite Jazz songs and show off his best 2 step dance. Pretzels, peanuts and snacks spread all over the table, with my uncle looking as content as could be. We would try to get him to let us open our presents but with all the fun. He was still about the traditions 'Santa hasn't delivered your presents yet, only christmas morning" said Julian; with a hug and a smile, so ended my Christmas eve. -Taurian (Nephew)
