Odette Taylor

August 3, 1963 - March 20, 2021

Odette was a much loved colleague and friend to many at Manchester Local Care Organisation. She trained as a Nurse in Birmingham and then went onto hold various posts in London before returning to Manchester in 2013. Odette's family are very proud of her role and achievements throughout her career, including achieving a Master’s Degree and supporting patients with Parkinson's Disease. Odette’s close colleagues are proud of her strong advocacy of patients alongside her wisdom and knowledge. Please leave your memories and condolences so we can pass them on to Odette's family.

I worked with Odette at Case Management & then whilst at the Falls Team in Central Manchester. Odette was a pleasure to work with. Always kind & compassionate with her colleagues & patients that she worked with, but also forthright, assertive & very articulate! Over the years, me & Odette talked about everything. I have many memories of long conversations with Odette, especially about religion & spirituality, but also politics & life. We come from very different backgrounds & held different opinions on most things, but we were always able to agree to disagree & remain friends! We also talked about our childhoods & families. I know how important Odette’s extended family were to her, & also how close she was to her Mum. I had great respect for Odette’s faith & spirit, because she clearly lived her belief & was steadfast in purpose despite her own health difficulties. I also felt she respected my own beliefs & opinions. Common ground was always there to be found. Finally I will especially remember the many laughs we had over the years – she had a great sense of humour, which we shared. It was truly an honour & a privilege to have worked with Odette & to get to know her. She will be very much missed by so many.
