I worked with Odette at Case Management & then whilst at the Falls Team in Central Manchester.
Odette was a pleasure to work with. Always kind & compassionate with her colleagues & patients that she worked with, but also forthright, assertive & very articulate!
Over the years, me & Odette talked about everything.
I have many memories of long conversations with Odette, especially about religion & spirituality, but also politics & life. We come from very different backgrounds & held different opinions on most things, but we were always able to agree to disagree & remain friends!
We also talked about our childhoods & families. I know how important Odette’s extended family were to her, & also how close she was to her Mum.
I had great respect for Odette’s faith & spirit, because she clearly lived her belief & was steadfast in purpose despite her own health difficulties. I also felt she respected my own beliefs & opinions. Common ground was always there to be found.
Finally I will especially remember the many laughs we had over the years – she had a great sense of humour, which we shared.
It was truly an honour & a privilege to have worked with Odette & to get to know her. She will be very much missed by so many.
