My deepest condolences to Prof Chu's family. Prof Chu introduced the wonders of algae and shared his interesting stories about expedition when we first joined IMU as freshmen. He brought us to Port Dickson to collect algae samples. Lectures were never boring with him around. Thanks Prof Chu. You will always be remembered.

My collaborator in Research gave me an opportunity to work on Antarctic bacteria, always enthusiastic and greets with a smile. Doubts and clarifications always quick to respond. We miss you this is sorrowful time, we would like to extend to you our heartfelt condolences.

My deepest condolences to Prof Chu's family. He was an excelent lecturer and scientist that has always been sincere in educating, advicing, and inspiring youger generations.

Please accept my sincere and deep sympathies for the demise of Prof Chu. He showed so much promise early on as a budding scientist and was very generous of his knowledge, time and cheerfulness to all his students and colleagues. I will treasure the fond memories we shared whenever we meet in conferences. He was down to earth, humble and encouraging to others. We shall sorely miss his person as we count ourselves fortunate to have known him. Rest in eternal peace and know that you have left your mark among us.
