Thilak and family (Sydney)

Dear Maya and Rushmi, our heartfelt condolences. Linga Annan was a wonderful person, who always cared for others. He had an infectious sense of enthusiasm which lifted everyone around him. I had some great times with him in London when I was there as a student. He would always have a word of encouragement and try his best to emphasise the positive aspects of life. His memories will live with us forever.

All the Punchi Ammas

Dearest Maya & Dearest Rashmi, Our deepest sympathies to both of U & please remember that ALL of us are with you although we are miles away & in different locations. No doubt u will miss Papa’s presence deeply, since both of u were with him all a long. We know the void his absence has created will take a while to get used to. Yet, looking at it in a philosophical way, he is no longer in pain - no more suffering - at least it will bring some sort of solace when we look at death from this angle. Both of u have been wonderful daughters; the way both of u cared and looked after him well, among your family obligations & office duties. We remember u both even invited all of us over to celebrate his 80th birthday. Ofcourse it didn’t happen due to the ongoing pandemic. Both of u can be satisfied & be at peace that u did everything to keep him happy. We know it’s no easy task looking after a bed ridden patient. He was a kind, caring, and generous father to u both so, u can be full of satisfaction that u did your best & that was THE best! We are glad that we got to know Thiyaga - a warm, pleasant & good brother in law through our Loku Akka. We are almost sure he has gone to a comfortable realm. Loads of Blessings & heaps of love to both of you! From All the Punchi Amma’s. Shirani, Rajini, Usha, Ali & Wai.

Ravi, Nelum & Dakshitha

Dearest Maya & Rashmee, Please accept our heartfelt sympathies on this sad occasion. All of us can understand how both of you feel right now. The absence of Papa will surely be quite acute and the void left behind will take a while to be filled - or may be never- But then "time the great healer" will help both of you to get over the loss,we are sure! Papa to us, was a dear brother-in-law. Whenever he was with us in Sri Lanka, there would be a stream of visitors, his friends & relatives, would not forget to visit him even for a short while. This alone showed his popularity with one & all. He was a dutiful father, too. He must have been more than satisfied with all the attention you both gave him until the very last. We are sure that both of you can be happy that you looked after him so well, despite the heavy work load that both of you had to tackle - running a home, attending to your office work, etc. With all this Papa was never neglected in any way. We can geage the innumerable problems both of you may have had to face, at the latter stages, when he was frail and bed-ridden. So Maya & Rashmee, both of you can be rest assured that you did the utmost for Papa, and feel happy about it. With much love and blessings, Ravi mama, Nelum nanda & Dakshitha
